What to confirm before you appoint a contractor in Lahore

1. Scope split. Be clear whether you are pricing grey structure only (the structural shell) or a turnkey handover that includes finishing. The two are frequently quoted against each other and are not comparable.
2. Rate basis. Confirm whether the per-square-foot rate is on covered area, and what is excluded - boundary wall, basement, extra height, imported fittings.
3. Specification. Ask for the material schedule in writing: steel grade, cement brand, concrete ratio, block or brick, wiring and sanitary brands.
4. Drawings and approvals. Structural drawings and the relevant LDA or society approvals should exist before excavation starts.
5. Payment schedule. Payments should be tied to completed stages, not to calendar dates.
6. Site supervision. Ask who is on site day to day, and how variations are recorded and priced.
